SENIOR YEAR

Okay I feel a little crazy.... I started my senior year and I can't seem to figure out what emotions are rushing through me. I can't figure out if I am happy, mad, sad, scared, excited, maybe a mixture of all of them. And then my mom has to go and freak me out about "growing up". I am never going to be emotionally stable ever again.

Trying to cover my anciouseness...

This week has been busy and going by quickly but not fast enough to make me happy. And yet I do not want my senior year to come and I do and yeah.

Monday I went shopping!! And I loved it because I had money!!
Don't you think these shoes are cute and they were only 5.50!!

Tuesday I started sewing a skirt!! That was fun and I can see I am making progress.
The picture below is not the skirt but one of my old baby blankets my mom found and it is what I am going to base my first baby girls (Amee Leora) room after.
We ran out to target and got some more school things and then went on a spur of the moment hike, up by Snow basin. It is a very nice hike and ends at a beautiful view minus Ogden.
Fall is coming!!!

These are socks my mom picked up while hiking!! Tee hee it is really dirt if you can't see that.

Wednesday me and my parents went to Salt Lake for the day. We went and ate at The Garden Restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith building. It was way too f antsy for me and felt out of place. Especially when Elder Christofferson was seated next to us. This is silly but I find it cool that he ordered te same things as my dad.
I thought the way they put the butter on the table was too cute!!! Silly me!

My Fettuccine Alfredo... not as good as my moms!!

This picture was take from the window of the restaurant and look how dirty so much for a great picture of the temple.

Way too high up for me.

We stopped at Marie Calenders for dessert. I had Carmel Apple New York Cheesecake. So good but way to rich but thankfully I had a very willing father to help me finish it.

For young womens we made headbands it was fun!!

Today it was raining and gave me a great chance to snuggle with a blanket and read.
Tomorrow I babysit all day and then might be hanging out with friends maybe.
Saturday will be another yard sale and Sunday there is a fireside. I am happy I have these things because I can't wait for school on Monday. Love ya hope you have a good week too!!

So I promised I would tell you about the wonderful flying experience I had going to Virginia and coming home. I flew out of the Salt Lake Airport on the 28th of July at 11ish. I was so lucky as to board a plane with only 48 seats which made me very sick as we were descending into the Denver Airport. Well that was not a very nice start to the rest of what was coming. Especially since I finally had become excited about having this trip on my very own. Any ways, so I land at the Denver Airport feeling horrid. I find my next gate and then find medication. My plane was delayed 20 minutes but no big deal, planes have delays all the time and I would still make my next flight. They began to board their deluxe members and then removed them. Rumor that the plane had an oil leak began to travel around the room. Eventually the rumor was made real when they announced that the plane did indeed have an oil leak and that it was too bad to be fixed soon. So they searched for a new plane to take us. That only took like 10 or so minutes which was a lott faster than I thought it would. I didn’t think that they just had planes sitting around but apparently this one was. So anyways we immediately begin to board and all seems well. But no it was not well. We sat there for a hour and then the pilot comes on the PA system and says “You guys are not going to believe this because I couldn’t believe this but this plane also has a leak.” The plane erupted with moans and complaints. This leak however was not too bad, so they fixed it right there which took another hour. I of course was going to miss my final flight from DC Airport to Norfolk Virginia. That plane ride was 3 hours long. So I was on that plane for 5 hours long which was no fun. We got into DC Airport at 11:30pm. They had promised on the plane that because this was a technical problem they would get us a room and book us for a flight in the morning. Well they did rebook me but there was no room that came with. Tonya said that it was only like a 2 hour drive from their place to DC so Shane would come get me so that I would not have to stay the night in the airport. It took 3 hours instead and then we had trouble getting my baggage since I was supposed to fly in the morning. And I didn’t get my luggage there. They said that they would just send them to the house. Which was awesome. But me and Shane did not leave the airport until 7am. So I was in DC Airport all night anyways. And since we still had a 3 hour drive my plane beat me home. I received no sleep that night because it was a strange place. I ate when I got to Tonya’s and then slept for a couple of hours. The stay there was awesome and I really got to know Tonya and her girls. I was able to go on the Navy base and get a tour of the ship my Uncle Shane was on. It was cool but I was happy to get off it. It may be big but it sure felt tiny.

Okay so now from my returning trip home. My first flight went just fine. I was on a small plane but I did not get sick since I had made sure to take medicine. So I landed in New York and immediately boarded my plane home which I thought was great because I would be leaving on time and all would be just fine. But guess what happened this time…. You never will so I will tell you.

We sat there for a hour because they could not get the door shut. And finally they found a tiny bead was not allowing it to close. How stupid is that, a bead. Anyways, so that was done and we finally pulled away from the terminal and got in line to take off. However the line was 12 or more planes and that was in front of us. Then a young guy was throwing up and he was said to have appendicitis and so we had to turn around so he could get off the plane. That was after we had sat there for an hour. So we finally got back to a terminal and then they had to refuel and all that and then get back out to the runway. So that took another hour which made it a total of 3 hours before we left New York. That flight was 4 and half hours making my stay on that plane 7 and half hours. I was so restless. I finally got into a Salt Lake, sick from all the wonderful air pockets, at 1:30 am. We then didn’t get home until like 3 and then I needed food and I was so tired I was sick and so I went to bed, but not until I looked at my new laptop. We were all very tired the next day but I was happy to be home.

So that was my first flying experience on my own. I have flown before and we never had any problems so I guess they caught up with me. I think I am done with flying. So any long distance traveling will be done by car.

Dear Monday the 9th of August

I really enjoyed you!!

I first got up at 6 am and that made me feel great.

Then I worked out which also made me feel great.

While working out in the garden I saw a mouse and it was kind of slow and then CoCo saw it and I quickly got the mouse, don’t worry I was wearing gloves, and put it somewhere it could hide. Just thought it was fun to save the poor little thing.

Then we gave the pets a bath. Which was scary when we washed Boots. She is a cat and of course does not like the water.

I got to talk to my bestie, McKenzie, her real name is Mckenna. Oh and you should read her blog it is fun.

Anyways that day was just a lott of fun and I was happy for that.

Thanks for being a good Monday!.

Love Katie

Dear McKennzie

I miss you.

And I copied you, I hope that is okay.

Man loosing two of your best friends in the same summer is pretty dang hard. And it has been way hard to get used to.

Dear Yard Sale

We had you on Saturday and you were not as good as we were hoping. I did sell some stuff which was good to have a little extra money which is going to go in my account which is kind of low.

Love Katie

Dear Jordan

I miss you my missionary.
It has been 2 months since you have been gone. 22 more months to go.

I start my SENIOR year of high school on the 23rd of August. I am going to DaVinci Academy. I have gone there all of my high school career. I am excited to be a senior but terrified all at the same time. So much seems to be rushing forward and sadly I am not like Kenna. She is willing to just let things happen while I on the other hand can not. So Kenna is calm and relaxed with change while I freak out and stress enough for the both of us.

Well thanks for reading and I apologize for it's length and so few pictures.
